Our MFM testers were impressed with its clever one-handed folding and the clever mechanism to attach and remove cocoons that are still in the infant stage. They thought it was not as agile as other models equipped with larger wheels for rough terrain.
Comfort
A quality double pushchair 3 wheeler must be comfortable for both baby and parent, with a supportive seat and hood that protects their heads. You can also find an array of colours, fabrics and accessories to suit your style. Some models have a lie-flat mode for babies and most models feature various positions that can recline. Some are also light which makes them easier to carry into the boot or to climb up and down kerbs.
Find features that make the ride more comfortable, for example an easy suspension or an enormous basket. Some models have a frame that expands in width to accommodate the second seating position. This lets them fit through narrow doorways and also make them more maneuverable on uneven terrain. Some models have a clever standing fold that takes up less room for storage between uses, and some even come with a handy rucksack for transporting the buggy.
Side-by-side buggies are typically wider than single buggys but some, like the Roma Gemini, manage to be lighter, yet still have enough nippy feel to be used in cities or at theme parks. They are also typically more easy to move up and down kerbs than some other twin-seaters, thanks to their more evenly weight distribution. They can be used from the age of newborn to about four years, and some have the option of attaching car seats or carrycots to prolong the life of the product.
Some can even convert to a trio of kids by incorporating a buggy board for mobile older children (UPPAbaby Vist v2 Double). It's important to note that although the majority of manufacturers stipulate the maximum weight for each seat, and possibly a frame weight total but it's not possible to know how much your child will grow until they reach toddler age.
You can decide whether a double 3 wheeler pushchair is right for you by trying it out. This allows you to see how easy it is to get two children inside. If you're thinking about a specific model, ask the store for a demonstration or hire agreement to test it in person.
